37 Best ISFP Anime Characters The Ultimate List

Posted on February 5, 2022

What kind of anime character are you? Today we’re going to explore the ten most powerful ISFP Anime Characters. If you’re an MBTI practitioner (which is pretty darn cool), it can be tricky to type fictional characters. What if there’s no way for me to interview them personally? So here I’ve taken some artistic liberties and made some choices that I think may surprise you!

Typing fictional characters is like entering a labyrinth. Characters are complex, multi-dimensional beings. And since people invariably give them qualities of multiple Anime personality types, typing fictional characters is difficult. But I’m going to do my best to type these characters as fairly and accurately as possible. Some of these characters I had to get second, third, or even fourth opinions on because they were so tricky!

1/37. Yuichiro Hyakuya (Seraph of the End)

The passionate and single-minded Yuichiro is driven to avenge his family “killed” by vampires. While he can be aloof and reckless, he also has a kind-hearted and protective side. Some people judge his passion and single-minded drive as idiotic, while others empathize with his motivations.

2/37. Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)

Ichigo Kurosaki is an IxFP, which means that he likes to explore new experiences and opinions and is often stubborn. A great leader in his own right, Ichigo is the go-to guy for those who have suffered deeply and need some help getting back on their feet. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, and he can lead people through tough times.

The ISFP’s emotional nature is a gift and a curse. He is genuinely compassionate and kind, soothing people when they are upset, or standing up for them when they are in danger. He soothes with a gentle word, comforting hug, or warm smile. However, he cannot always quite express what he feels on his face — which gives off the impression that he doesn’t care.

3/37. Uta (Tokyo Ghoul)

Uta is a passionate soul who yearns to feel alive in a world that seems bent on destroying his species. He’s an ISFP who has channeled his creative powers into his ghoul masks, and is currently artist-in-residence at Roppongi Hills. Uta is cheerful and upbeat, and will make sarcastic or playful quips during his battles to keep the energy lively and exciting.

4/37. Ai Ohto (Wonder Egg Priority)

Ai Ohto is a massive ISFP. She’s pretty, she’s adorable and she absolutely adores you. No matter who you are or what you get up to, Ai is there for you. She’ll come to your aid no matter what. But if she sees you doing something wrong or ugly, her judgement will strike like the Midas touch – You will instantly start feeling bad about yourself and wish you could improve.

When it comes to her identity crisis, Chise’s journey often takes a backseat in the storyline. However, as the series progresses, she begins to see the value of helping others and develops a newfound passion for saving humanity. This is one of the most inspiring aspects of personality types when they bring their sense of introverted feeling (dominant) under control and start to develop their introverted intuition (tertiary).

5/37. Ojira Mashirao (My Hero Academia)

Ojira is a nice guy who was born with both hands. He loves to do good in the world and has often been told that he has hands down one of the most beautiful hearts on Earth. He wears white gloves to protect his hands because they are so important to him. A true gentleman, he holds doors open for others and helps them get behind him in line at grocery stores. Not only that, but he enjoys fighting evil with his fists.

6/37. Shoto Todoroki (My Hero Academia)

ISFPs are not the most common type out there, but they are no less valuable than any other type. While many people type Todoroki as INTJ, I believe this largely comes down to false stereotypes about ISFPs rather than a true understanding of what ISFPs are actually like. So would an INTJ be more like Lelouch vi Britannia (Code Geass) or Todoroki himself? Let’s explore!

Todoroki’s personality is comprised of two primary traits, his introspective, ethical nature and his smooth reflexes on the battlefield. If he were to go to a party, he would likely be the one standing at the edges of the room observing and taking everything in, while another person would be talking his ear off. When he uses his fire abilities, it’s with a cool, calculated thoughtfulness that other show characters lack.

7/37. Akira Fudo (Devilman Crybaby)

Sensitive and passionate, the Exorcist aims to fight tirelessly against the forces of evil. But even against his most bitter enemies, he is able to see the humanity in them and forgive their sins. Like many ISFPs, he realizes that life isn’t as black-and-white as it would seem at first glance. The Exorcist is so caring and devoted that he may sometimes land himself in precarious situations to protect others.

8/37. Haruka Nanase (Free!)

When you first meet Haruka, he might seem quiet and standoffish. Don’t let his determined, confident shell fool you — once you get to know him better, you’ll find that he’s kind and caring. He feels most alive when he’s close to water, because it brings out the colorful emotions that lie deep within his reserved exterior.

9/37. San (Princess Mononoke)

Stubborn and driven by instinct, San has a keen eye for the forest that raised her. Her passion and compassion are what make ISFPs — human or otherwise — so respected. She may have lived apart from her people for much of her life, but she will do whatever is necessary to protect the humans she now lives with, even if it means giving up her own skin.

10/37. Eren Yaeger (Attack on Titan)

Eren is easily one of the most interesting and complex characters in Attack on Titan . Volatile in personality, he is both unthinking and thoughtful; cruel, yet kind-hearted. Although he wants to do the right thing, he often finds himself a victim of his own passions. This is one character that is hard to love – but still impossible for me not to.

Eren is a passionate individual who has a tendency to act before he thinks. This causes him to speak and act in ways that others deem inappropriate. However, Eren’s passion is what makes him such an incredible leader – especially when it comes to being the best Titan-slayer possible. Not only does he have strong morals, but he also has the willpower to stand behind them and protect those who he cares about.

11/37. Blue (Wolf Rain)

Blue is a calm and independent individual. Although she finds it difficult to express her feelings, Blue will do anything to protect the people she cares about. Blue’s strong sense of loyalty and independence is what makes her an attractive character. As she begins to embrace her wolf nature, this trait becomes clearer — and more captivating — than ever.

12/37. Ryuko Maki (Kill la Kill)

Ryuko is depicted as someone who is fearless, yet very self-conscious. She is willing to fight for what she believes in. She is incredibly stubborn, and will throw down with anyone that wants to get in her way. That same stubbornness also extends to her relationships; she clearly shows that she cares deeply for her family members, and for Satsuki, who is more like a mother figure than a sister.

13/37. Thorfinn Karlsefni (Vinland Saga)

Thorfinn is a fine example of how an unhealthy ISFP behaves. His father is killed and he, like a typical ISFP, becomes coldblooded and ruthless. Impulsive and unpredictable, he’s also a poor choice for most interactions with the outside world. If it weren’t obvious from the uses of the first person in this article… Meghan likes to write. She has written a lot of things that people have enjoyed reading!

14/37. Akira (Devil Man Crybaby)

Akira is a fantastic character. I personally recommend you to watch the anime movie Akira. Akira is a perfect example of how ISFPs should be — he’s sincere, humble and friendly. As an ISFP myself, there were elements of his personality that were extremely relatable. I used them to create my own characters in stories I’ve written!

15/37. Zuko (Avater: The Last Airbender)

If you’re looking for a thoughtful, caring character, look no further than Zuko (from Avatar: The Last Airbender). When he was younger, Zuko was often caught up in his emotions. He had to learn to control them more and be less impulsive — but this just makes it more interesting when he’s confronted with a difficult decision. Zuko is undoubtedly clever, and can be very protective of those he loves.

16/37. Kou Minamoto (Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun)

Kou is a man with an independent streak to him. He’s a good-natured guy, but he’s not afraid to take the road less travelled and make his own decisions. This is not to say you should follow in his footsteps; he’s got some pretty bad habits that you might not want to emulate as well. But the key point is this: Kou Minamoto is definitely an ISFP.

17/37. Kamanue (Demon Slayer)

Kamanue is observant and focused. He cares deeply about the safety of his friends, and will go to great lengths to defend them. Although he’s been through some rough times recently, he’s determined and upbeat. Although he’s not the main character, we believe Kamanue is an ISFP.

18/37. Esmeralda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

Esmeralda is a great character and we love her — she has many qualities, but there’s one that stands above the rest. It’s a little thing called introverted feeling, and it makes all the difference in our eyes. In this part of her psyche, Esmeralda has the pure need to make people happy and bring out their best qualities.

19/37. Sanemi Shinazugawa (Demon Slayer)

Sanemi is a very quiet person. For this reason, his sensitivity might be overlooked at first sight, as he looks quite cold. But the truth is that Sanemi is very charismatic and friendly with those who get to really know him. Thanks to his quiet demeanor, Sanemi often likes to observe what’s going on around him without interfering or expressing himself.

20/37. Daki (Demon Slayer)

While Daki is a demon slayer, she’s also human. She’s a teen, and like any other teen — she’s trying to figure out who she is. Like most teens, she has inner conflicts with staying true to herself versus imitating others. However, this doesn’t mean that she never lashes out on her brother — though it does mean that this isn’t done on a regular basis.

21/37. Chris Griffin (Family Guy)

Family Guy’s Chris Griffin is a bit of an enigma, isn’t he? It’s hard to put your finger on why exactly you enjoy watching him, but it’s clear that there’s something magnetic about this ISFP. Perhaps it’s the fact that this quiet type cares deeply about his family — perhaps it’s just because Chris is a strange guy who loves movies (and painting).

22/37. Ymir (Attack on Titan)

While Ymir may appear self-involved and impatient at first, Fi eventually shows its true face — that of a loyal and protective friend. Possessed by the type’s sense of justice and honor, Ymir is someone who always stays true to her ideals, even when others shun her out of fear.

23/37. Bertholdt Hoover (Attack on Titan)

Bertholdt is one of the most emotional characters in Attack on Titan, but we don’t see this at first. When the series begins, he’s assumed to be reserved and quiet. Over time, he cracks open for all to see. His dynamic with Annie is one of the most emotional moments in the series. He’s a people pleaser in every sense of the word, as well as an emotional character who you can’t help but cheer for!

24/37. Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

Sasuke’s life is driven by a quest for revenge. Driven by his family’s death, he spends his entire life seeking revenge. His perception becomes that of a dark figure, one who seeks to destroy anything in his path and hurt the people around him. He understands this by the end of the series, though, and becomes a better person — going from an angry murderer to someone who has overcome their pain.

25/37. Yuji Itadori – Jujutsu Kaisen

Yuji is a true ISFP. He’s extremely athletic and mature for his age, but he would much prefer spending time in the occult club than breaking track records. He’s extremely kind, which is why he’s so perceptive when it comes to understanding other people. He has a laser focus on finding the truth behind the deaths of his grandfather and schoolmates.

26/37. Ojiro Mashirao (My Hero Academia)

Ojiro from My Hero Academia is an ISFP Hero who demonstrates the positive side of this personality type. Considered one of the weakest students at U.A., Ojiro has a quiet nature and often avoids direct conflict, which makes him an easy target for bullies like Bakugo. But when called upon to use his quirk, Ojiro demonstrates decisive action, improving his grades throughout the school year.

27/37. Inuyasha (Inuyasha)

Although Inuyasha may not seem like a classic ISFP, his strong sense of morals, ideas about honor and the desire to protect others make him the perfect candidate for the type. His blunt attitude and his refusal to listen to reason are both classic ISFP traits, as is his lack of interest in strategy; ISFPs place more value in their gut feelings than in logic.

28/37. Nana Osaki – Nana

While Nana may appear intimidating at first glance, she’s actually a kind and loving person who cares deeply about her daughter. She’s fun-loving, adventurous, and has a huge personality – the sort of person that you can’t help but like! As part of her coming-of-age journey in Tokyo, Nana strikes out on her own to be a singer in a punk rock band.

29/37. Ryoga Hibiki (Ranma ½)

Ryoga is an ISFP to the core — his passion for the martial arts, his in-the-moment attitude, and his inability to ignore what’s right in front of him make him a great example of this personality type. Despite being shy around Akane Tendo, Ryoga exudes a unique combination of passion and determination, constantly pushing himself to become better.

30/37. Genya Shinazugawa (Demon Slayer)

Genya, who is always hot-headed and acts on his own emotions, is actually a benevolent character. As an ISFP, he always does what he thinks is right, but when he begins to get to know other characters better and comes to understand the need for teamwork, he does what’s necessary for the sake of others. This can be seen in how he helps the Demon Slayer and grapples with inner demons.

31/37. Simon (Gurren Lagann)

Simon from the anime series Gurren Lagann is a soldier in heart and soul, and I’m pretty sure that’s because of his personality type. He’s an ISFP, and he falls into this category because he’s young, just starting to learn how the world works, and has a small group of friends but feels nervous when meeting or talking to new people.

32/37. Eren Yeager (Attack On Titan)

The ISFP’s love for art, aesthetic beauty, and harmony make them some of the most sensitive individuals of the 16 Myers-Briggs Personality types. As Introverted Feelers (Fi), their work can be deeply rewarding when it allows them to express themselves with minimal outside interference.

33/37. Ryuko Matoi (Kill La Kill)

Ryuko Matoi, the short-lived protagonist of an anime series that aired a while ago, is a down-to-earth fighter who keeps her priorities straight. She likes getting stuff done, and when she gets too hotheaded, she’ll just take a quick break and come back fresh to tackle the task again.

34/37. Tatsumi (Akame Ga Kill!)

Tatsuma is a young guy who’s been forced to grow up very quickly. He was initially optimistic and cheerful, but (like anyone) had his share of growing pains. He’s sure in his beliefs and follows his heart. While he’s a generally good guy, he’s also got a streak of mischief running through him — no do-good heroics here! That said, he does value his friends and family deeply.

35/37. Thorfinn Karlsefni (Vinland Saga)

Thorfinn Karlsefni is an ISFP because despite his shortcomings, his intuition and flexible attitude help him connect with other people. He is also very adaptable when put in new situations, since he embraces every challenge that comes his way with open arms — embracing different types of people as well.

36/37. Haruka Nanase (Free!)

Haruka Nanase’s favorite hobby is swimming, his favorite food is steak, and his favorite color is blue. He dreams someday to become a professional swimmer, but he doesn’t like to study. His favorite subject in school is Japanese and his least favorite subject is math. And whatever you do, don’t ask him if he’s thinking about the future: he’s not.

37/37. Asahi Azumane (Haikyuu!)

Asahi Azumane, a power attacker for the Karasuno High School volleyball team in the popular Haikyuu! anime, doesn’t play for fake glory and social status — he plays because he loves the rush of competition. It’s a trait that resonates with many fans, who’ll be able to relate to his drive to win and his humility once it’s all over.
